Fort Ann Rescue Squad Inc. was founded in 1961 with twelve members as an all volunteer organization and the purpose of providing pre-hospital care to Fort Ann Town and Village residents.  in the early 2000's Fort Ann Rescue Squad added its first Paid Staff members making sure that a staffed ambulance was available with providers in the building as well as adding paramedic care level care. Fort Ann Rescue Squad through out the early 2000's grew its grew its membership adding an additional ambulance and moving its building from the village of Fort Ann into the Town were it presently sits today. 

In 2019 the Fort Ann Rescue Squad seeing a need for additional services added additional ambulances to their fleet bring a total of three ambulances. a Brand new ambulance 2019 PL Custom was built and serves the community too this day. 

During this time the agency was able to grow its volunteer membership to double from 1961, as well doubling its paid staff as cal volume continued to increase

Today the Fort Ann Rescue Squad operates five ambulances with roughly 28 volunteers and 32 paid staff members. Fort Ann has also expanded its purpose to include helping patients get from one hospital to another through specialty care. Call Volume in 2019 was roughly 600 calls and has increased in 2024 ending the year responding to to roughly 2600 calls for service. Fort Ann Rescue Squad staffs a dedicated paramedic ambulance to the Town and Village of Fort Ann with one of the best responses in Washington County. 

Fort Ann Rescue Squad continues to strive forward trying to be a leader in emergency medical services and helping patients with top tier patient care.
